In 2019, MDM became a member-school of the Global Schools Program, joining a global movement of schools committed to the SDGs and affirming the urgent need to further strengthen and scale up Education for Sustainable Development. This commitment to achieve the SDGs has earned MDM the Icons of Change 2025 Award for SDG 4: Quality Education - Champion in Montessori Education and Holistic Learning, with special recognition of its Senior High School student organization, UN17, for Global Impact.
MDM is recognized has a Legacy School, having partnered with Montessori Model United Nations for 10 years and counting.
MDM students regularly participate and win in international conferences, such as the Montessori Model United Nations Conference in Rome, Italy; the Southeast Asia Youth Ambassadors conferences in science, environment, and leadership held in Malaysia and Singapore; and the Asian-Pacific Children's Convention in Fukuoka, Japan.
